I've tried it all. Drugstore products, high end products, antibiotics, homemade remedies. You name it, I've tried it. Growing up, I had pretty good skin, and I would only break out during that good ole time of the month. However, about two years ago, when I was going into my senior year of high school, I started to get awful breakouts all over my chin. I never experienced anything like it before, and just like yourself, I searched all over the internet to find the magic cure, and I tried every single thing that I read online, but here's the thing, what works for him or her may not work for you.
I took my skin through hell and back because I declined to look at the ingredients I was putting on my face, and I didn't care to really be concerned with what these skin care products were actually doing.
During May 2014, I decided to change my diet to a completely vegan and clean eating diet. I wanted to make this my lifestyle after reading many reviews of people going vegan and becoming healthy and seeing massive changes in their skin. Not only did I loose about 5-10 pounds within 3 months, I definitely saw a change in my skin. The breakouts weren't as bad, however with being so close to perfection, I knew I needed to find something to be a catalyst to my perfect skin.
That is where my incredible facialist, Biba, comes in. After being given a recommendation from a family friend, I made an appointment to Biba of West Hollywood. If anyone knows of her, you'll know her clients are Rachel Zoe, Miley Cyrus, and Emily Blunt just to name a few. Yes, she is pricey, but I spent so much money on products ruining my skin that I decided this would be worth it.
And it was. From September 2014-January 2014, I saw Biba once a month. During my first visit with her, she sat down and talked to me about what I had been dealing with and she even through all of my skincare, makeup, and hair products to see if there were any ingredients I shouldn't be using, and there were a lot. She helped me create a new skincare routine with a line of products she sells and uses in her facials, assuring me that I will get facial-like results every time.
Since day one, Biba made everything personalized and worth every penny. I still see Biba today about every two months just to do a routine cleaning and keep everything at bay. What went from 2-4 new pimples a day is now down to about one pimple a month. This woman saved my skin and self confidence.
I know getting a facialist is pricey, but if you can afford it, I would definitely do an extensive amount of research and find someone who you think will be able to cater to your needs. And while you do that, start with changing up your lifestyle. Eat clean. Cut dairy and meat out. Limit the sugar and gluten. Delete it completely if you can. Trust me, it is a lot easier than you can imagine, and it is the lifestyle that drives my health and skin today to perfection today.
I know how it feels to be insecure and hate the way you look. I know how it feels when you think someone is staring at your acne, not your face when you talk. I spent lots of time crying over the way I felt about my skin and quite frankly, it sucked. I am extremely happy that I was able to not only find a great person who has done wonders to my skin, but I am proud of myself for being able to take control of my diet and health in order to see changes to my appearance and overall happiness.
